Baked Beans
This is my grandmother’s well known recipe that we eat with every BBQ dinner. It is known all throughout our family and all of our friends. Everyone always wants more of them when they are all gone! So I revised the recipe so that the taste would be even better than before.
ingredients
- 1 or 2 cans of plain baked beans
- 1/2 of white onion
- 1/2 cup of BBQ sause
- 3-4 slices of bacon (optional)
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of mustard
- 1 tablespoon of chili pepper
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
directions
First you want to open the can of beans and put them into a big pot and turn the heat on low. Chop the onion and, on a separate pan, saute’ it with the bacon in some olive oil. Once the onions and bacon are caramelized, and them to the pot of beans. After this it’s easy, add all the rest of the ingrdients into the pot of beans. Now what you want to do is let the beans sit and cook for as long as you want them to cook. I would suggest to cook them about 4-5 hours at the least. The longer you cook them, the better the flavor and taste is going to be.
