Mom's Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes
ingredients
- 6 medium-size sweet potatoes
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups thinly-sliced apples
- 1/2 cup, or more, brown sugar
- dash cinnamon
- 2 tbs chopped pecans, optional
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup apple juice

I use fresh yams and Granny Smith apples. And if I don’t have the apple juice, I just use water. And I put the cinnamon in til it smells good.

Boil potatoes til almost done. Peel and slice 1/2" thick.

Peel and slice apples and cook in small amount of water.

Grease baking dish and alternate apples and potatoes - sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and pecans. Dot with 1/4 cup butter. Pour apple juice over top.

Bake about 30 minutes
