Apple Butter

Easy crock pot recipe to cook while you sleep.

  • Peel and core apples. Dice into small pieces.

  • Place apples, sugar and cinnamon in crock pot. Stir well.

  • Cover and cook on low for 10 hours.

  • Uncover and cook another 2 hours on low stirring to break up any large pieces.

  • After total cooking time is up, let cool. Spoon into airtight containers. Refrigerate or freeze.

notes:

Remember to use 5 lbs of apples (not 5 apples like my dad did !)I like to start this late at night so it is done when I get up in the morning. For easy clean up line the crock pot with a disposable plastic liner before starting the apple butter.
