Apple Butter
Easy crock pot recipe to cook while you sleep.
ingredients
- 5 LBS Granny Smith Apples
- 2 Cups sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Peel and core apples. Dice into small pieces.

Place apples, sugar and cinnamon in crock pot. Stir well.

Cover and cook on low for 10 hours.

Uncover and cook another 2 hours on low stirring to break up any large pieces.

After total cooking time is up, let cool. Spoon into airtight containers. Refrigerate or freeze.

Remember to use 5 lbs of apples (not 5 apples like my dad did !)I like to start this late at night so it is done when I get up in the morning. For easy clean up line the crock pot with a disposable plastic liner before starting the apple butter.
