Lemon & Basil Egg Bread

  • Preheat over to 350*F.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, basil, cheese, salt, pepper, and milk. Set aside.

  • Cut the top off the bread and hollow out the inside. Tear the top and inside into pieces and save for egg mixture.

  • In a small bowl, mix together oil and lemon juice, then brush over the inside of the bread shell. Add 4 cups worth of the bread pieces (discard the rest) to the egg mixture and stir. Allow a minute or two for the liquid to soak into the bread, then stir again to turn to mush. Pour into the bread shell.

  • Bake for 30 minutes.
