Balsamic Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Make ahead: Mashed sweet potatoes can be made up to 3 days in advance, covered and refrigerated. Do not freeze. To reheat, place in a large saucepan, cover and heat over medium-low, stirring occasionally. You may need to add more milk.

- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- pinches of ground nutmeg or cinnamon, salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 to 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
