The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
¾ pound butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 scant cup white sugar
1 tsp course salt
2 extra large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour (plus/minus ¼ cup)
1¾ tsp baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cream the butter and the sugar together, add the salt, eggs and vanilla and beat to combine well. Add the flour and the baking soda and mix until incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips. Place scant quarter-cups of dough 2 inches apart on the cookie tray and bake for 15 minutes. The cookies should be soft, leave the on the sheet to cool.
