Christine's Chocolate Pie

Joe loves pie!

  • prepared pie crust(baked & cooled)

  • 2 c milk

  • 2 (1 oz) squares of Baker’s semi-sweet baking chocolate

  • ¼ c corn starch

  • 1 c sugar(mix sugar with corn starch)

  • dash salt(add to milk and chocolate)

  • 3 egg yolks, beaten

  • 1 T butter

  • 1 t vanilla

  • In double boiler melt milk and chocolate with salt.

  • When chocolate is melted add sugar/cornstarch mixture.

  • Cook until thickens.

  • Add yolks. Add butter and vanilla.

  • Put in pie crust.

  • Meringue:

  • 3 egg whites

  • ½ t vanilla¼ t cream of tartar

  • 6 T sugar

  • Put meringue on top and bake 350 for 10-15 minutes until meringue browns.
