Christine's Chocolate Pie

Joe loves pie!

ingredients

  • prepared pie crust(baked & cooled)
  • 2 c milk
  • 2 (1 oz) squares of Baker’s semi-sweet baking chocolate
  • 1/4 c corn starch
  • 1 c sugar(mix sugar with corn starch)
  • dash salt(add to milk and chocolate)
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 T butter
  • 1 t vanilla

directions

    In double boiler melt milk and chocolate with salt.

    When chocolate is melted add sugar/cornstarch mixture.

    Cook until thickens.

  • 4

    Add yolks. Add butter and vanilla.

    Put in pie crust.

    Meringue:

    3 egg whites

  • 8

    1/2 t vanilla1/4 t cream of tartar

  • 9

    6 T sugar

  • 10

    Put meringue on top and bake 350 for 10-15 minutes until meringue browns.
