Angel Chicken Pasta
A delicious, easy company dish - the flavors are wonderful.
ingredients
- 6 skinless boneless chicken breast halves
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 0.7 ounce package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 can golden mushroom soup
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1 pound angel hair or other pasta
directions
Original Version
- 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- 2
In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in the package of dressing mix. Blend in wine and golden mushroom soup. Mix in cream cheese, and stir until smooth. Heat through, but do not boil. If necessary, thin the sauce with a little milk, water, or chicken broth.
- 3
Arrange chicken breasts in a single layer in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour sauce over.
- 4
Bake for 60 minutes in the preheated oven. (EE - 375° for 30-40 min.). Twenty minutes before the chicken is done, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Cook pasta until al dente, about 5 minutes. Drain. Serve chicken and sauce over pasta.
Variations:
- 1
Can substitute 1 ounce of bottled Italian salad dressing for the dry salad dressing mix.
- 2
Can substitute chicken broth for all or half of the wine.
- 3
Can add mushrooms, steamed broccoli or asparagus.
notes
Yet another recipe I was introduced to by Easy Entrees. This recipe can be adapted for the crockpot. Just mix together your ingredients in a saucepan, place the chicken in the cooker and pour the seasoning mix over the top. Cook on Low for 4-5 hours.
