Banana Nut Bread

Our cookbook would not be complete without this classic favorite from our Mother. Enjoy!

  • 1. In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and softened butter. Mix in 3 eggs and buttermilk. Combine thoroughly.

  • 2. Peel and mash bananas. Beat the bananas into the batter.

  • 3. Add flour and baking soda to the batter. Mix completely.

  • 4. Add pecans and vanilla to the batter. Beat until batter is smooth.

  • 5. Grease and flour three loaf pans and equally divide the batter into the pans. Bake loaves at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

  • Banana nut bread can be wrapped and frozen.
