Hot Cranberry Bake

A cranberry syrup bubbles beneath the streusel-topped fruit in this easy winter dessert

  • 4 cups apples (peeled and chopped)

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries

  • 1 2 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 a cups quick-cooking oats -uncooked

  • 1 cup chopped nuts

  • a cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • 2 butter or margarine - melted

  • Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees and lightly grease 2 quart baking dish.

  • Combine apples and cranberries in a lightly greased baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice; top with sugar.

  • Combine oats, nuts, brown sugar, and butter. Stir mixture just until dry ingredients are moistened and mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit.

  • Bake at 325 degrees for one hour.

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream
