Sangria

CraigCraig Stephen

A great party drink on a summer day. Serve like punch and share with good friends.

ingredients

  • 24 oz red wine
  • 1 Oranges
  • 1 Limes
  • 1 Apples
  • 1 Peaches
  • 4 T sugar (or to taste)
  • 4 T Lemon Juice
  • 4 T Orange Liqueur or Brandy
  • 2 C Club Soda or Seven Up, etc

directions

  • 1

Slice the oranges and limes. Quarter the apple and peaches. Split the fruit into two batches.

  • 2

Mix wine, half the fruit and other ingredients except the soda in a jug and store in the fridge overnight.

  • 3

A few hours before serving remove the masticated fruit. Replace with remaining fresh fruit prepared as above. It’ll add more flavor but still look nice when being served. Just before serving add soda and ice cubes. Serve cold.

notes

This is a casual drink. I use wine-in-a-box when making it and ideally fruit that's past it's prime. Feel free to substitute fruit based on what's available. i.e. Lemons, melon, plums, etc.
