Sausage Basil Lasagna
ingredients
Sauce- 2 Tbl olive oil
- 1 lb spicy Italian sausages, casings removed
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1 Tbl garlic, minced
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes with puree
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green pepper and onion, not drained
- 1 1/2 cups packed fresh basil leaves
- 1 (15 ounce) container part skim ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 12 uncooked lasagna noodles
- 3 cups grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan chees
- Cooking spray

This lasagna can be assembled and refrigerated overnight, or it can be baked ahead and reheated in a 350 degree oven.
