Thai Beef Salad

Believe it or not I took Thai cooking lessons in Brussels of all places. This is one of our favorites.

  • 1 lb. Beef Tenderloin

  • Soy Sauce

  • Sauce

  • 4 Tablespoons Fish sauce

  • 5-6 teaspoons Lemon juice

  • 2 Tablespoons sugar (level)

  • Salt ½ Teaspoon

  • 1-5 Chilis (based on your tastes) crushed and sliced

  • 1 Tablespoon garlic, chopped

  • 2 Tablespoons shallot. sliced in circles

  • 1 Tomato, sliced

  • 2-3 Tablespoons Fresh mint

  • 1 Tablespoon Cilantro

  • Beef

  • Preheat the oven to 300. Marinate in soy sauce for at least 30 minutes. Roast until pink inside, then slice thin.

  • Seasoning Sauce

  • Pound chili and garlic until fine,set aside. Mix fish sauce, sugar lemon juice. Add beef to sauce, then add chili, garlic and shallots.

  • Before serving sprinkle with mint, cilantro and a little shallot for garnish.

notes:

Careful with the chilis, don't double the chilis for a double recipe. Taste and then decide.
