1 Cup whole raw almonds
½ C granulated sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
Salt
Combine almonds, sugar and butter in a heavy 10 inch skillet. Cook, stirring fairly constantly, over medium heat until the almonds are toasted and the sugar is melted and golden brown (approx. 15 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Spread the nuts on a sheet of aluminum foil (make sure to spray the foil with non stick cooking spray). Try to place 2 to 3 almonds in clusters. Lightly sprinkle with salt.
