Iced sun green tea with pineapple and mangos
I love a refreshing iced tea in the summer and I love green tea. This iced tea is one of my summer staples
ingredients
- 1- 4 quarts clear glass jar with a lid
- 3 quarts cold water
- 1/2 fresh pineapple, peeled
- 2-3 mangos depending on size, peeled
- 3 1/2 in slices fresh ginger
- 1 1/2 cups *palm sugar or raw sugar
- A nice hot and sunny day
directions
- 1
Put the teabags and water into the jar and place it is a sunny spot outside.
- 2
Chop the whole pineapple and mango in small bite size pieces and place in a medium size pot with the sugar, ginger and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to very low and simmer for an hour. Keep an eye on the syrup and add water if needed because you want to be able to pour it when it has cooled. Your house is going to smell so good.
- 3
At the end of the end of the day bring the tea inside and add the fruit syrup (fruit also). Treat yourself to a nice glass of iced tea and refrigerate the rest.
*I love palm sugar because to me it has a softer taste that regular white sugar, plus is it all natural. You can find palm sugar in Thai market and many Asian markets. If palm sugar or a raw sugar (which available in Latino markets) is not available in your area try light brown sugar or just plain white sugar agave or honey. Be Kreative, experiment with different types of sweeteners
notes
you may want the serve the fruit syrup separate from the tea if you have quests that dietary restrictions or they just like their teas less or more sweet.
