Snickerdoodles

Delicious cinnamon-sugar cookies with crispy edges, and chewy centers; these cookies are a crowd pleaser for sure!"

  • ½ C Butter, softened room temp

  • ½ C Shortening

  • 1½ C White Sugar

  • 2 Eggs, room temp

  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 2¾ C all-purpose Flour

  • 2 tsp Cream of Tartar

  • 1 tsp Baking Soda

  • ¼ tsp Salt

  • 5 Tbsp White Sugar

  • 5 tsp ground Cinnamon

  • Preheat oven to 400°.

  • Cream together butter, shortening, 1½ cups sugar, the eggs and the vanilla. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.

  • Mix the 5 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

  • Bake 8 minutes, no longer!! Remove immediately from baking sheets.

Mix the dry & the wet ingredients separately. Hand Mix! Don't have any Cream of Tartar? Use White Vinegar or Lemon Juice.
