Snickerdoodles
Delicious cinnamon-sugar cookies with crispy edges, and chewy centers; these cookies are a crowd pleaser for sure!"
ingredients
- 1/2 C Butter, softened room temp
- 1/2 C Shortening
- 1 1/2 C White Sugar
- 2 Eggs, room temp
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 C all-purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Cream of Tartar
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 5 Tbsp White Sugar
- 5 tsp ground Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400°.

Cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, the eggs and the vanilla. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.

Mix the 5 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake 8 minutes, no longer!! Remove immediately from baking sheets.

Mix the dry & the wet ingredients separately. Hand Mix! Don't have any Cream of Tartar? Use White Vinegar or Lemon Juice.
