Brownie Refrigerator Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 brownie mixes
  • 1 extra large egg
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 (8 oz.) containers whipped topping
  • 1 (3 oz.) package instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 (3 oz.) package instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 Hershey candy bar or chocolate syrup

Mix brownie mixes according to directions. Add egg. Bake in 9x13 inch greased and floured cake pan. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar and 1 container whipped topping. Put this mix on top of the cooled brownies. Blend puddings and milk together and put on top of the cream cheese mixture. Top with another layer of whipped topping. Put chocolate shavings or chocolate syrup on top. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

    I made this recipe for my husband and his co-workers and they commented saying, "That was heavenly!" However, if you leave the dessert out for awhile, the vanilla/chocolate pudding turns green! Kind of scary...I hope I didn't poison anyone in the making of this dessert!? Lol!

    I cut the recipe in half to take it to work for June birthdays. It was a hit!!

    Well, it doesn't allow room to put a lid on the pan, but everything went on smoothly when I made it. We just covered it with saran wrap, and it worked well. But use whatever pan you'd like.

    If you are going to make this recipe I would use a deeper pan. I made this in a 13x9 and I don't see how I'm going to get the pudding and the cool whip on top yet. Not enough room in a 13x9. Great recipe though.
