Massachusetts Skillet Cranberries
Different from the usual Thanksgiving cranberry sauce. Alexander found this in a book of traditional New England recipes and made it for his 5th grade state project.
1 Lb. Fresh Cranberries
2 C. Brown or White Sugar
2¼ C. rum
Dump the cranberries into a black iron skillet or oven proof dish.
Sprinkle with sugar, cover and place in a 250F oven for 1 hour.
Pour in the rum and continue cooking, uncovered until liquid evaporates.
Do not stir. Stirring breaks up the cranberries.
