Original Chocolate Chip Cookies

The famous “crumblers”

  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp. baking soda

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter-flavor Crisco

  • ¾ cup white sugar

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

  • Preheat oven to 375.

  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, beating well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.

  • Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
