The famous “crumblers”
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter-flavor Crisco
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, beating well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown. Cool on wire racks.

All cookies should be consumed the same day they are baked (not generally a problem).
