Pizza Dough

ingredients

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 c. flour, sifted

directions

In large bowl, bloom yeast in warm water. Mix in sugar, salt, and oil. Add 2 cups of the flour; dough will be sticky. Gradually add in remaining flour by kneading on lightly floured board, until smooth and elastic. Roll into loose ball, and place in greased bowl. Brush top with oil, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise to double. Punch down, divide in half, and form two balls. Roll or toss each to fit on a 12" pan. Place on pan, with edge of dough thicker than the middle to prevent toppings from spilling. Brush with oil and pierce 10-15 times with a fork. Top with desired ingredients. Bake at 375° 10-15 minutes, or until crust sides are golden brown and cheese is melted and starting to brown.
