Dolmas
This stuffed grape leaves recipe comes from a greek lady and the minute rice is the secret.
ingredients
- 2 lbs. hamburger meat
- 1 large or 2 med. onions, chopped fine
- 1/2 bunch parsley chopped (no stems)
- 2 cups minute rice, uncooked
- oregano
- garlic powder
- salt and pepper
- 1 jar grape leaves, approx. 50
- 6 lemons, halved

Throw out imperfect grape leaves as they will be too hard to wrap up. Spread remaining leaves out flat on a plate.

Mix remaining ingredients, except lemons, in a large bowl. Put a small spoonful of meat mixture in the middle of a leaf. Fold the sides over the mixture and roll up. Roll them tight!

Stack the grape leaves in a stock pot as you finish them. In between every layer squeeze a lemon half over them. Just cover the entire batch with water and top with a plate that fits inside the pot to keep them submerged.

Bring to boil for 5 minutes then simmer for 1 hour.
