Beef and Barley Soup
ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs lean boneless round steak, trimmed and cut in 1 inch cubes
- 3 1/2 cups beef broth
- 3/4 cup dry white wine
- 1/4 tsp rosemary, crushed
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1 cup carrot, chopped
- 5 cups water
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1/4 c dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp fennel seed
- 1/2 c pearl barley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp parsley
