See’s Candies were always out at Grandma and Grandpa’s house during the holidays. I love the candy tables and I am sure everyone in our family will continue on with the tradition. This is the original See’s fudge recipe: Given to Amy DeVore by Emma Julian c. 1930, this is “supposedly” the original recipe for See’s Fudge, produced by the See’s Candy Company, Los Angeles. Emma allegedly worked for See’s stealing the recipes, one ingredient at a time, and later owned her own candy store.

DO NOT add margarine to boiling sugar mixture, and do not cream margarine and marshmallow cream together. Place chocolate chips, marshmallow cream, and margarine cut in chunks in large bowl, and pour boiling sugar and milk mixture over it all. Heat will melt it all. I've been making it for over 35 years, and it it is amazing when you make it this way. Bon Appetit!

I've had this recipe for years, it won't work if you make it this way. Add the butter (never margarine!) to the milk and sugar in saucepan, stir constantly until it boils (over medium heat), then boil and stir nine minutes. Pour over the rest of the ingredients in large bowl, stir until mixed well, pour into buttered rectangle pan and let set. I add orange extract or rum extract (1 tsp) for extra flavor.

The instructions need to be corrected. Look at 3 and 4. Does not make sense. I love fudge but hesitant to make until the recipe is corrected
