Troufes (Greek Rum balls)

  • 1 box social cookies
  • 1/2 lb sweet butter
  • 1 c confectioners sugar
  • 4 1/2 tbsp cocoa
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Hershey’s choc syrup
  • 1 lb chopped walnuts
  • 2 tbsp cognac or brandy or amaretto
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp orange extract
  • 1 large container chocolate sprinkles (jimmies)

    Crush cookies, chop walnuts, sugar, cocoa, choc syrup, cognac, orange extract all put together in a bowl. (add a little extra cognac if needed, and if kids wont be eating it) ;)

    Melt butter, beat eggs, pour both into bowl and mix together. Keep refrigerated overnight. Using teaspoon roll approx 3/4 to 1 inch round balls. Roll in jimmies. Keep frozen/refrigerated
