Just like in the French Quarter.
ingredients
- 1 (1/4-oz) envelope active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c warm water (105-115 degrees) divided
- 1/2 c granulated sugar
- 1 c evaporated milk
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 c shortening
- 6 1/2-7 c bread flour
- vegetable oil
- sifted powdered sugar
