Grandpa’s Rum Butter Tarts
ingredients
- 1 cup currants, steeped in hot water for 5 minutes and drained
- 1/3 cup rum
- 3 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 1/2 cup golden syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Pie Dough:
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons Mazola corn oil
- 5 tablespoons cold water
