Kathy's French Onion SoupShannon
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 3 or 4 tbsp butter
- 3 cans of beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 bouillon cube dissolve in 1/2 cup of water
- gruyere cheese
Peel, rinse and cut onions into thin slices. Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add the onions and saute or cook slowly, stirring until transparent. Gradually blend in the beef broth and the remaining ingredients. Simmer slowly for at least one half an hour.
Place soup in bowl and a piece of baguette and gruyere cheese over top. Place in broiler for a few minutes and serve.
