Family recipe passed down from my grandmother to my mom to me and now to my son.
- 1 kosher cut up chicken (if possible). If not, then free range or organic. Many supermarkets sell Empire Chicken. Sometimes it’s frozen.
- 1 parsnip
- 1/2 bunch of dill tied with string
- 1/2 bunch of parsley tied with string
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 small onion
- 2 - 3 carrots peeled and sliced into 1/2 in pieces
- 1/4 cup Kosher salt. Must be kosher.
- 1/2 t pepper
