Debra Grossman's Stuffed Cabbage
ingredients
- 1 large head of green cabbage
- 2-3 lbs. of ground beef
- A few packages of flanken (short ribs)
- 1 large onion grated
- 1-2 handfuls of rice (I use uncooked minute rice, white or brown)
- 2 large cans of whole tomatoes
- 2 large cans of tomato sauce
- 2 heaping cooking spoons sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- a few shakes of pepper
- 1/2 -1 tsp. sour salt
- 1 tsp. - 2 garlic powder

This is best when made ahead, giving all the flavors a chance to really develop. Serve with fresh challah!
