Baked Macaroni & Cheese

  • 2 C Large Elbow Macaroni

  • 4 tbsp Butter

  • ¼ C Onion, minced

  • 3 tbsp Flour

  • 2½ C Milk

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • ⅛ tsp Pepper

  • 2 C American Cheese, grated

  • Prepare macaroni as directed. Drain. In medium size saucepan, melt butter; add onion and cook until tender. Do not brown. Stir in flour and cook one minute. Add milk, salt and pepper. Bring to boil; remove from heat. Add cheese, stir until melted. Combine cheese sauce and macaroni; pour into a 3 quart baking dish. Bake in a 350° oven for 30 minutes.
