Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lbs. of peeled, cored, & quartered apples (use a good cooking apple)
  • 3-4 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3 inches of cinnamon stick (I coat the apples with cinnamon powder instead)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water

  • 1

    Put the chunked apples and other ingredients in a large pot.

  • 2

    Cook on medium high until the liquid is bubbly. Stir and then cover. Continue to stir occassionally.

  • 3

    Cook until the apples are soft and cooked through.

  • 4

    Store in the refrigerator or can in mason jars when the sauce is still warm.
