Great-Grandma Glaser's Sunset Cookies

One of my favorite Christmas cookies, these are rich and melt-in-your-mouth with just a hint of sweetness. Great-Grandma used to make them every year and I would eat them by the pound.
ingredients
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- Red and green sugar sprinkles
