  • 1/4 C olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • Simmer 5-10 minutes
The sauce
  • Add to the base
  • 2 - 28 oz. cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp. fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp. fresh parsley
  • 8 oz. applesauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

    Simmer 40 minutes

  • 2

    Add 1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan or romano cheese

  • 3

    Serve over your favorite pasta
