Pear Pie
I had to learn to cook with pears when my Granny’s orchard gave us all a bumper crop. Apples could be substitued as well.
ingredients
- 2 cups chopped or thinly sliced pears
- 3/4 C sugar
- 2 T flour
- 1/2 t cinnamon
- 1/2 t nutmeg
- 1/2 lemon, juice only
- 2 9" pie crusts
- 6 pats margarine or butter
directions
Mix above ingredients and fill one pie crust. Roll out top pie crust and place over filling and pinch edges. Make slits in top and insert butter or margarine. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
notes
I always use a homemade pie crust so my prep is longer.
