Bread of the Death
Pan de Muerto, Hojaldras, see picture! Wonderful with hot cocoa and/or pumpkin preserve.
ingredients
- 4 packets of yeasts (30 gr)
- 1/4 C warm water
- 1/2 C flour
- 6 C all purpose flour
- 2 cups of sugar
- 5 Eggs
- 1 1/4 C Butter
- 1/4 C Orange blossom water/ or powder cinnamon (for flavor)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 Eggs / sugar / sesame seeds (for decorating)

Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and add the 1/2 C of flour, make a soft ball of dough and let it sit for 15 min.

Make a dough with the 6 cups of flour, eggs, sugar, butter and orange water blossom/ cinnamon.

Knead the dough adding the yeast mixture. Let the dough sit for 2 hours in a warm place until it doubles its size.

Form the buns into desired size, and decorate with small pieces of dough. Place the buns on a greased tray and let them sit again until the size is doubled.

Decorate with scrambled egg and sugar or sesame seeds.

Bake at 375° F for 20-30 minutes.
notes
Extra flour might be needed when orange blossom water is used.
