Spicy Moroccan Fish

Traditional spicy fish.

ingredients

  • 2-3 kg fish (Grouper, Mullet or other in thick 3 cm slices)
  • For fish marinade:
  • 1/2 cup corn oil
  • 1/2 fresh lemon juice
  • cup chopped coriander
  • 1 spn white pepper
  • 1 spn salt
  • 1 spn moroccan paprika
  • For sauce:
  • 1/2 cup corn oil
  • 3 red peppers chopped to squares
  • 8 dry peppers chopped
  • 6 spicy peppers halved
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp moroccan paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tbsp white pepper
  • 1/4 tbsp salt
  • 1 fresh batch of coriander chopped2 1/2 cups of water

directions

    Mix all the marinade ingredients, dip the fish in and rest for 15 mins to absorb flavours.

    for the sauce:

    Heat oil in wide pot that could hold all the fish part, add the peppers and spicy peppers as well and fry for 3 minutes.

    Add garlic, paprika, turmeric and cook for further 1 minute.

    Add water and bring to boil. Add rest of ingredients, cover and cook for 30 minutes.

    After 30 minutes uncover and let liquids evaporate.

    Add fish with marinade, cover and cook for 10 minutes on low heat.

  • 8

    turn fish over and cook for further 5 minutes. turn hob off and leave closed pot on for at least 1/2 hour before serving.

    Serve with some chopped coriander on op.
