Lasagna – Shortcut Style

ingredients

  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 8 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 1 (10 or 12 oz.) can Italian seasoned tomatoes
  • 1 (6 or 8) pkg of thin sliced Mozzarella Cheese (I use a lg. pkg. of grated)
  • 1 (8oz) can seasoned tomato sauce
  • 1 envelope of spaghetti sauce mix
  • 2 cloves or “some” powered garlic
  • 1 cup of cream style cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    Brown meat slowly; spoon off excess fat. Add next 4 ingredients. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes stirring occasionally. Salt to taste. Cook noodles in boiling, salted water until tender; drain; rinse in cold water. Place half of noodles in an 11 1/2 x 7 1/2

    x 1 1/2 baking dish; cover with a third of the sauce, add 1/2 of the Mozzarella, then 1/2 of the cottage cheese. Repeat layers ending with sauce. Top with parmesan cheese. Bake in moderate over at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut in squares.
