Party Coffee Cake with Butter Frosting
ingredients
Coffee Cake- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 6 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 tbsp cream
directions
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add egss, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together flour baking powder and soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Spread half of the batter in greased 10 inch tube pan. Add brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts to melted butter; mix well. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-nut mixture on batter in pan. Cover with remaining batter. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon-nut mixture on top. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes. Cool slightly in pan; turn out onto serving plate. Serve plain or with butter frosting.
Butter Frosting
Combine all ingredients and blend until creamy. Spoon over top of cooled cake.
