Weidman Waffles
This are famous!
ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour 2 egg whites beaten until they cling to bowl
- 1/2 t. salt 2 egg yolks well beaten
- 2 t. baking powder 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 T. sugar 1/4 c. melted butter
directions
Sift dry ingredients together. Beat egg yolks with egg beater and combine them with milk. Gradually stir liquid into dry ingredients and beat only until smooth. Add melted butter. Last, fold in beaten egg whites. Pour heaping 1/2 cups of batter on center of hot waffle iron. Cover, and allow to bake in the waffle iron until golden brown and crisp--about 3 or 4 minutes. Makes about 4 waffles.
