Home Alone Seared Tuna Salad
Sitting home alone while hubby was at a business meeting Imade this yummy salad.
ingredients
- 2 tablespoons dark sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons lite soy sauce
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp grated garlic clove
- fresh ground black pepper
- 1 4 to 6 0z 1 inch piece frozen sushi grade tuna
- Jane’s Crazy Mixed up Salt
- Gomasia seasoning (whole foods)
- 1 1/2 cups mixed baby green salad mix
- one carrot shredded
- 1/2 cup sliced or diced hot house seedless cucumber
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 5 fresh basil leaves chopped
- 3 tablespoon Marie’s Ranch dressing
- 1/2 tsp wasabi paste

Combine first five ingredients. Place tuna in a bowl and pour marinade over it. Spinkle Janes crazy salt on side facing up and place in frig for 10 minutes. Flip tuna over, sprinkle with janes crazy salt and Gomasia, Press the Gomasia into the tuna and put back in frig for 10 minutes.

Now toss the salad ingredients,cilantro, basil, cucumber and carrots into your bowl and set aside.

Mix ranch dressing and wasabi together with a wisk.

Remove tuna from frig, sprinkle with Gomasia and press into tuna.

In a cast iron skillet sprinkle kosher salt on the bottom. Heat on high until smoking, then add enough olive oil to cover bottom and add tuna. Sear each side for 90 seconds. Before removing add remainder of marinade to skillet briefly, then remove tuna and take skillet off heat. Slice the tuna and place on top of your salad, pour your dressing then enjoy!
