Brownies

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter an 8“ x 8” pan.

  • 2. Melt chocolate in a small bowl set in a pan of simmering water. When chocolate melts, remove from heat and let cool.

  • 3. In a large mixing bowl, either by hand, with a fork and spoon, or an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar. With a wire whisk or electric mixer, add eggs one at a time and blend. Blend in vanille, then the melted chocolate. Using a rubber spatula, gradually stir in the flour. Stir in walnuts.

  • Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake until toothpick inserted between center and edge of pan comes out clean (or if inserted in the center, toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs (about 18 minutes)

  • Remove pan from oven and place on a rack to cool for one hour before cutting brownies.

  • Lightly sift powdered sugar over brownies after cutting.
