Brownies
ingredients
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (not imitation)
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. chopped walnuts

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter an 8“ x 8” pan.

2. Melt chocolate in a small bowl set in a pan of simmering water. When chocolate melts, remove from heat and let cool.

3. In a large mixing bowl, either by hand, with a fork and spoon, or an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar. With a wire whisk or electric mixer, add eggs one at a time and blend. Blend in vanille, then the melted chocolate. Using a rubber spatula, gradually stir in the flour. Stir in walnuts.

Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake until toothpick inserted between center and edge of pan comes out clean (or if inserted in the center, toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs (about 18 minutes)

Remove pan from oven and place on a rack to cool for one hour before cutting brownies.

Lightly sift powdered sugar over brownies after cutting.
