Helen's Modified Spaghetti Sauce
Bob likes this because “It’s just good. We always had it for Christmas and we always looked forward to Christmas”.
ingredients
- 2 Large Onions, diced
- 3 Cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/2 Cup Oil
- 1 28 Oz.Can Whole Tomatoes
- 1 28 Oz. Can Tomato Puree
- 4 Large Cans Tomato Paste
- 4 Large Cans Water
- 2 tsp each, Salt and Pepper
- 2 tsp. Basil
- 2 tsp. Parsley
- 2 Lbs. Ground Round, browned
- 2 Lbs. Italian Sausage, browned

1. Brown onions and garlic in oil

2. Add whole tomatoes and puree, piercing tomatoes with wooden spoon while cooking

3. Add paste and water

4. Stir to combine ingredients

5. Cook on medium low until sauce starts to thicken
- 6
6. Add browned meats and finished cooking until desired thickness

7. Serve over penne or spaghetti
