Beef & Vegetable Soup

Tastes great - serve with a crusty loaf of bread
ingredients
- 1# ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped sweet onion
- 12 oz. beer (whatever you have on hand)
- 1 (10-1/2 oz.) can condensed beef broth, undiluted
- 1 1/2 c. sliced fresh carrots
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 c. chopped peeled turnip or potato
- 1/2 c. sliced celery
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 1 t. salt
- 1 t. black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/8 t. ground allspice
directions
In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pin; drain. Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the remaining ingredients. over and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until heated through. Discard bay leaf.
