Mega Meatball Pizza
ingredients
- 1 pizza dough
- Handful of flour
- 3 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 2 Tbsp. finely chopped rosemary plus a couple of sprigs
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground sirloin (we substitute ground turkey)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 4 - 6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- Coarse salt and black pepper
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- Handful flat-leaf parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 3/4 lb. fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced or grated

Preheat oven to 425° F.

Dust dough with flour and roll out to form your crust.

Drizzle baking sheet with olive oil and set crust on top. (Poke dough several times with a fork to avoid air bubbles.)

Drizzle top with olive oil and rosemary. Place in oven for 10 minutes.

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add 2 tablespoons olive oil, then meat. Brown and crumble 5 mins; add onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper then add tomato paste, combining with a wooden spoon. Stir in Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, parsley and oregano.

Remove crust from oven and top with meat mixture. Top with mozzarella.

Return pizza to the oven and bake until cheese is golden.
