Immense Fruit Salad
ingredients
- 1 ripe fragrant pineapple
- 2 pink or white grapefruit, cut in sections
- 2 or 3 naval oranges
- 1 pint strawberries, stemmed and halved, or quartered lengthwise
- 2 or 3 ripe peaches, sliced (peeled if you feel like it)
- 1 cup red seedless grapes
- 1 cup green seedless grapes
- 1 medium canteloupe, cut into balls
- 3 or 4 ripe kiwis, peeled and sliced crosswise
- 1/2 cup sugar, or to taste (use less probably)
- 1/4 cup or more freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 cup or more freshly squeezed lime juice
directions
Put all the fruit into a large bowl. One hour before, add 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1/4 cup each of lime and lemon juice. Refrigerate, folding gently several times. The fruits will hold longer than an hour, but are at their best when served promptly.
