7 Layer/Twenty Four Hour Salad
ingredients
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
- 1/2 red onion, chopped
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1 can (8oz) water chestnuts, sliced
- 1 package (10oz) frozen peas
- 2 cups mayonnaise
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 3-4 hard boiled eggs, grated
- 1/2 cup bacon bits (optional)
- 2 medium tomatoes, cut into wedges

In clear glass serving bowl, layer 1/2 of first 5 ingredients, repeat.

Spread mayonnaise over top, sprinkle with sugar, cheese, salt and garlic powder.

Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.

Before serving, sprinkle grated eggs, bacon (if using) and tomatoes over top.
notes
Adding bacon changes the taste of the salad, it just depends on your palate for that day that your are making the salad. This is a very yummy salad.
