Beef with Oyster Sauce
ingredients
- 2 T soy sauce
- 1 T dry Sherry
- 1 T cornstarch
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 lb beef (chuck or round) cut into 1/4 inch strips
- 2 T oil
- 1 green pepper, cut into 1/4 inch strips
- 8 oz canned water chestnuts, diced or sliced
- 2 1/2 T bottled oyster sauce

Combine the soy sauce, dry Sherry, cornstarch and sugar in a small bowl.

Add beef and marinate 20 - 30 minutes.

Heat oil in the wok and stir-fry the green pepper strips and water chestnuts 1 - 2 minutes. Remove from pan.

Stir-fry the beef for 2 - 3 minutes. Return the green pepper and water chestnuts to the beef in the pan.

Gently stir in the oyster sauce. Heat thoroughly and serve at once. Garnish with nuts if desired.
