Stromboli
ingredients
- 1 large prepared pizza dough
- 1 pound bulk sausage or pepperoni
- 1 pound grated mozzarella cheese
- whites of 2 eggs
- cut dough in half

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Line a rectangular cookie sheet with parchment paper.

3. Flatten half of the dough to 14 in. by 20 in. rectangle using a rolling pin.

4. Cook sausage and lay it on top of the dough. If using pepperoni, just place on top of the dough.

5. Spread mozzarella cheese evenly over the entire rectangle.

6. Fold in one short side, then roll over each end on sides to cover filling. Then, fold other short side. Flip over to seal the ends.

7. Coat outside of dough with egg whites.

8. Bake on parchment lined cookie sheet (with sides to contain run-off)at 400 degrees for 20 - 30 minutes.

*For a vegetarian variation, substitute sauteed vegetables for meat.
