Basic Bread Stuffing

ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup diced celery with leaves
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp.Accent
- 2 tsp.salt
- 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 12 cups bread crumbs
- 2 TBSP. chopped parsley
- Add sage to your taste
- 3 cups boiling chicken stock

Melt butter in a skillet,add onion and celery and saute over low heat for 15 minutes.Pour mixture over bread cubes which have been mixed with salt,pepper,poultry seasoning,and parsley. Add stock and mix thoroughly.

Can be baked separately in flat pan or stuffed loosely in bird.

For a 12-14 pound bird: double recipe;18-20 pound bird triple

Helen always poured turkey gravy over the stuffing just before serving.
