Hamburger I-don't-need-no-helper
A hearty Stroganoff like meal. Full of lean protein and fiber.
ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 1 c chopped celery
- 1 c chopped green pepper
- 1 lb extra lean ground beef
- 1 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 4 cups uncooked medium egg noodles
- 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed 2 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 1/2 c beef broth

Legumes (beans) are an excellent source of dietary fiber, which lowers cholesterol. Use extra lean ground beef or turkey to keep the fat down.
